I was tagged by and since I'm trying to put off doing a bunch of other things I decided to have a go at it.
No real rules, Just answer the questions and have fun doing it, if you want you can tag 5 people, and comment on their pages that you tagged them!
1. How Long Have you Been Cosplaying?
Since 2005 I think. Give or take a couple years ><;
2. How Many Cosplays Have You Done?
A lot, but to list a couple:
Lenalee from D Gray Man
Nia from Gurren Lagann
Hibari and Tsuna from Katekyo Hitman Reborn
Tokio from .Hack
Ciel Phantomhive from Kuroshitsuji
Judai Yuki from Yugioh GX
Celty Sturluson from Durarara
and there are a bunch more I can't even think of right now.
3. What do you consider your hardest cosplay?
Ironically enough every time I make something I always say it ended up as my hardest cosplay since I like to try to push myself to be better and better every time I make a costume.
If I had to chose I would say it was Celty. I only really took a couple days to make her, but I had no idea what I was doing half the time and totally messed up my wrist trying to figure things out. She turned out pretty good though considering I was crunched for time, so I'm happy.
4. What do you consider your easiest cosplay?
Hibari. Everything for the costume went right for me. I literally made his jacket in a day and his tonfas in another day. For such an easy costume I really liked to wear it. He was probably one of my favorites.
5. Wigs, do you make them?
I always style my own wigs. (Occasionally I'll take a little help from the boyfriend) But even if it's a simply style and I can just get a scruffy off of coscom or something, I like to at least trim the wigs I buy so I feel like I gave it a personal touch.
6. Do you sew, buy, or rent your cosplays?
I try to sew as much of my costume as I possibly can. If that doesn't work out I reach for the hot glue, but I always make them myself. (Regular clothing like t-shirts and pants I will buy if I can find an exact match.)
7. Pick one of your Male Cosplays, (if you're a guy, or you crossplay) and talk about it a little:
I think everyone has heard enough about me and my Judai costume. So I'm going to shut up about him and tell everyone a little bit about Ciel Phantomhive.
I totally fell in love with the little brat the second I saw the series. I got into it because Sebastian looked like Mukuro (my fav character in reborn) and so I decided to check it out. I loved the eye patch and all the fancy Victorian clothing. I tried to make a simple outfit at first and honestly it failed miserably. When all my friends said they were doing a circus arc group, I jokingly said I would do Ciel's circus outfit. Since my first attempt at cosplaying him hadn't gone so well I didn't think I'd actually make the complex circus outfit, but in the end I somehow pulled it all together in time for otakon. I will admit it is a very uncomfortable costume and tires me out quickly, but I always have so much fun doing Kuroshitsuji that I look back and remember doing those costumes in a very fond way. I really can't wait until I can make his next outfit.
tl;dr: Frecklez is stupid.
8. Pick one of your Female Cosplays, (if you're a girl, or you crossplay) and talk about it a little:
I'm going to pick Nia. At first I actually really didn't like her or Gurren Lagann in general, but I'd only seen the first 2 episodes and I only didn't like it because I'd had too much ADD to watch it more. When Zippy got into it, I got back into it too and he told me I should be Nia and I suddenly realized I actually did like her a lot. Learning to make her gold bangles out of funfoam was a challenge for me at the time. Now that I'm older, if I remade it, I would do it completely differently. I'm still proud of the 2 costumes I did for her and I loved allt he white curly wigs I got to wear. (I ended up with 4 different ones by the time I stopped cosplaying her) She's a spunking chick and I would definitely cosplay her again.
9. Do you have a con coming up?
Otakon 2010 in a month. I'm hoping to go to Manga Next this year as well.
10. Who do you normally cosplay with or go to conventions with?
My boyfriend Zippy goes to every con with me. A lot of our friends don't go to every single one we go to, but I get to see all the people I've met over the years at least at one convention every once in a while. I would list all the friends I look forward to hanging out with at cons, but that would be WAY too long and I don't want to leave anyone out.
11. What is your most memorable Con experience?
Hmm that's a really tough question. I've had so many great experiences. If I had to pick only one it would be the day that Zippy asked my out at Katsucon 2009. If anyone wants to hear the story I will gladly tell them. It's one of my favorites.
12. What do you like to cospaly?
Idiotic heroes with stupid hair, goggles optional. I also like doing the main love interest sometimes. I tend to pick all my cosplays to match with ones that Zippy will be doing.
13. Fan Attacks! How weird have they been to you?
I've had a lot of bad ones, probably too many to count. Here's once that just popped into my head: At otakon one year I was playing twister and I was arched up to be on the right circles. Someone tried to hit my butt with a yaoi paddle while I was like that but missed and hit my back instead. Suffice to say I was in a lot of pain and I was very angry.
14. What is your favorite part about a convention?
EVERYTHING I love cosplaying, I love seeing all my friends, I love making a ton of new friends, I like looking at pretty things in the dealers room and artists alley, and I LOVE seeing all the pictures and videos afterward so that I can remember all the fun I had.
15. What is your most hated part?
Drama is never fun. I also don't like trying to juggle with eating right, sleeping enough, and waking up on time to run around and have fun. Also the stress right before the con. xD
See that wasn't so bad! Now Who are you tagging? Make sure to comment and let them know that they were tagged!
I'm not going to tag anyone since I'm a fairly lazy person. xD Anyone can do it if they want to.
